The Brussels Film Festival will take place from June 5th to 12th 2015 at Place Flagey in Brussels. Along with its European fiction feature-film competition, its premiere screenings and professionals’ gatherings, the Festival also celebrates the numerous links that bind music and cinema. In order to do so, it dedicates a section of the competition to Music Docs, and organizes a “speed-dating” session.
June the 8th: Place Flagey at 2pm, the Brussels Film Festival organizes individual meetings between composers, directors and producers, using the basic principle of speed dating.
To what end? Facilitating encounters and furthering collaborations between music composers, directors and fiction and documentary film producers.
How does it work? A selection committee screens through the music samples sent and chooses ten of them. The selected candidates are put in contact with movie directors and producers. According to the principles of speed dating, they have 15 minutes to win them over.
Who can participate? Anyone who is domiciled in Belgium and who either has a proven experience in movie scoring (for short, feature or documentary film), or is a professional composer, or composes original music.
Did you know? All types of current music are eligible (pop, rock, electro, experimental, contemporary and all kinds of music hybridizations).
How to participate? You can send 3 sound files (.wav, mp3, etc) and a biography at the following address:music@brff.be.The deadline is : MAY the 15th.
