Fabian Coomans

            Fabian Coomansis a Belgian pianist and composer. He obtained a master degree at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Belgium) in the classes of Pascal Sigrist (piano), Wim Henderickx (analysis and composition) and Bart van Oort (pianoforte).

He is co-founder of the ensemble BESIDESwhich plays and develops a repertoire outside the usual new music repertoire and collaborates closely with the composers. 

He was also one of the artistic directors of theBrusselsWHAT'S NEXTfestival dedicated to new music and creation.

He regularly collaborates as a pianist with Ictus Ensemble, Spectra Ensemble, Sturm und Klang orchestra, Champs d'Action, Nadar Ensemble, Ensemble 21, Nahandove, Liège Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brussels Philharmonic.  He plays also as solo pianist programs dedicated to contemporary and new music.

The Goeyvaertsstrijktrio, Nadar Ensemble, Aton & Armide, Ensemble 21, Nahandove and ensemble Besides have been performed his compositions.

He also made sound creations for the Belgian theatre director Alan Bourgeois (The Chairs of E. Ionesco and A Summer day of S. Mrozek).
