From the myth of Echo and Narcissus told by Ovid in 'The Metamorphoses', Denis Bosse has freely imagined a piece for five instruments and electronics. Inspired by the contrapuntal form of the ricercare, this music, which also bears witness to the spirit of Ligeti's 'Musica Ricercata', takes us from episode to episode, from reflection to echo, in search of the interiority of sound. Narcissus can only love his own image, the nymph Echo is condemned to repeat what she hears... Their impossible meeting sings the infinite solitude of desire.
