Line Adam

Having launched her career in the 1980s, Line Adam created her first orchestrations and musical directions in the 1990s before going on to tour internationally with concerts and various shows.

She has composed:

  • Film Scores:
    Film music for movies such as Voltaire et l’affaire Calas (TSR, FR2), William Z (RTBF), Les Gens pressés sont déjà morts (RTBF), Chang (USA), La Solidarité mon C… (ARTE), Le Rendez-vous (Tunisia), La Louve (FR3), L’Africain qui voulait voler (Gabon/Néon-Rouge), The Mercy of the Jungle (Néon Rouge/Tact Production/Perfect Shot Films) as well as numerous documentary scores for ARTE, TV5MONDE, and FRANCE2.
  • Original Stage Music:
    Original music for many Belgian and French projects (9 shows for Les Baladins du Miroir, L’Infini Théâtre, 5 plays for Théâtre du Moderne, 7 musicals for the Ecole de la Scène de Bruxelles, etc.).
  • Ensemble Collaborations:
    Works for several Belgian and international ensembles such as the Quartz Ensemble, Saxacorda, the Thaïs Quartet, Le Sempre Trio, the Liège Chamber Orchestra, the Krokus Trio, Musiques Nouvelles, the Aïda Quartet, and Clap Duo.
  • Operas:
    Two operas for the Opéra Royal de Wallonie: Sybil et les silhouettes (finalist in the Operaj contest) in 2012, and Fleurs de peau in 2015.
  • Chamber Opera:
    A chamber opera based on Voltaire’s philosophical tale Micromégas for the Ars Musica festival “Next Opera Days.”
  • Orchestral Works:
    7 tableaux for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège in 2021.

In addition, she has produced over 70 albums as an arranger and/or artistic director and led the polyphonic vocal group I Canta Storia for 20 years.

Her personal albums include: Northern Flute, Sculptures, Museum, België-Belgique, Spices, Faits d’hiver, Landscape with String, Northern Piano, Cordes sensibles, Femme, La chanson de l’oubli et les sept péchés capitaux, Film Soundtracks, among others.

In 2008, she created Concert de Dessin with François Schuiten.

In 2022, she composed:

  • For L’Infini Théâtre, Les bonnes de Genet (directed by D. Serron).
  • Tempus Fugit, created by Musiques Nouvelles in April 2022.
  • 2 albums for the French publishers CDM Music & Superpitch.
  • The score for La porteuse souffle for Les Baladins du Miroir.
  • The score for Charlatans imaginaires for Arts Nomades.
  • Fin funèbre, created at Flagey for the 60th anniversary of Musiques Nouvelles.

In 2023 & 2024, she composed:

  • Stabat Mater, created on December 8, 2023, at the Sacred Music Festival by the ensemble Musiques Nouvelles.
  • The chamber opera Micromégas by Voltaire for the Ars Musica Festival.
  • For Clap Duo, Marimba and Clarinet by Ch. Michiels and P. Quiriny.
  • The release of the album Film Soundtracks, featuring the most beautiful themes from her feature films.
  • The release of the albums La chanson de l’oubli (based on poems by Vincent Engel) and Sept péchés capitaux.
  • The score for the piece Soudain la pierre for Les Baladins du Miroir.
  • For the clarinet quartet Clarias 2.0.
  • For the vocal octet Le Concert Etésien.
  • The release of the album La porteuse de souffle (Qmps – Les Baladins du Miroir).
  • The release of the album Soudain la pierre (Qmps – Les Baladins du Miroir).
