Corps sonores is a short composed version of the sonic universe of the interactive sound installation exhibited in the entrance hall of the Museum of Fine Arts in Mons. It sonified the staircase leading to the exhibition halls, using 15 contact microphones attached to steps and banisters of the staircase. Various sound triggering, modulation and transformation control strategies use both pre-recorded material and the actual sound of the visitors being amplified. Those were then spatialized on an eight speakers sound system.

The name is a reference to visitors' bodies, which trigger and modulate the sounds of an interactive sound installation through their movements. This miniature was composed in June 2003 for the CD accompanying the City Sonics sound installation tour from June to August 2003 in Mons.

Corps Sonores, composed at ARTeM studio, was premiered on the 28th of June 2003 at City Sonics, part of the Eté Plus Festival at the Museum of Fine Arts in Mons (Belgium) where it ran until the 17th of August.
